Ioannina
Access
Someone can travel to Ioannina from Athens by bus (7-8 itineraries daily), from Thessaloniki (5-6 itineraries daily) and from Igoumenitsa (7-8 itineraries daily) as well as from other towns in Greece as in Volos, Lamia, Halkida, Kalamata, Kozani, Kastoria, Larissa, Grevena etc. for which there is a regular everyday bus service.
Ioannina is also connected with Western Europe through the liner going From Igoumenitsa to Italy.
There is also a modern airport, about 4 km from the center of Ioannina, where Olympic Airways offer everyday flights to Athens.
Directions on how to spot the “Politia” hotel by car
The hotel is located on Anexartisias str. 109. If a GPS is available, ask for Sina str. 4, where our parking lot is.
- From the southern entrance (Athens – Patras – Thessaloniki – Igoumenitsa and Egnatia Street).
You enter the town and drive ahead to the centre. At the central square after you drive by the Epirus Prefecture Building, drive directly until you see the Big clock of the town. Turn left and go straight for about 400m till you see ATE Bank on your left. On the right you can see two streets. One is a paved street (Tsirigoti str.). You must take the other one (Sina street) between a Pharmacy shop and a confectioner's. Only 40m down you see on your left the parking lot of the hotel. The entrance of the hotel is about 30m from there, on Anexartisias str. on your left.
- From the northwestern entrance (Konitsa-Airport)
You enter the town and drive ahead to the centre. After the “Alsos Park” (you will see the EURONICS building on your right at this point) turn left on Korai str. And drive directly for about 200m. Till you see the ATE Bank on your right. In front of you, there are two streets. One is a paved street (Tsirigoti str.). You must take the other one (Sina street) between a Pharmacy shop and a confectioner's. Only 40m down you see on your left the parking lot of the hotel. The entrance of the hotel is about 30m from there, on Anexartisias str. on your left.
- Directions from the Bus station to the Hotel
The “Politia” hotel is just 600-700 meters from the bus station and it is easily reached on foot. You simply take Papandreou Str. towards the lake for about 300m. In Filikis Eterias str. You have to turn right go down to the end of this street (200m.), turn left on Anexartisias street and you will see the “Politia” hotel after about 100m on your right.
